The importance of tools in website publishing

Starting from scratch can be scary and it’s an adventure that should keep you busy for a while before you get your first results.

That is, unless you use the right tools at the right time. Today, we are going to review the best tools to use when you start this adventure.

This article is therefore geared towards beginners, but if you’re an advanced user, you might discover some of the tools.

Ahrefs

Well, this one, you must have already heard about it at some point, either in a training, on twitter or your company (if you are an employee).

Ahrefs is an SEO analytics tool that allows users to track their ranking in different search results, analyze their backlinks, refdoms and track their organic traffic. It was launched in 2011 by Dimitry Gerasimenko and Alexey Gavrilov and is now one of the leaders on the market.

This tool will also allow you to do your keyword research as well as analysis of your competitors.

I refer you to this YouTube video which will present you more in detail the tool and its features.

So it’s a very complete tool that will save you a lot of time, however, the cost is very high, starting at $99 per month for the smallest offer.

You can get 7 days free right here (unaffiliated link).

Semrush

Semrush is an online marketing tool that was created in 2008. It helps marketers improve their campaigns by providing data on keywords, traffic, backlinks and competitors. Semrush also offers tools to track keyword rankings, generate reports and analyze traffic.

As you can see, it is a direct competitor to Ahrefs, but with more advanced features (in my opinion) especially in the keyword research that displays more details.

Here is a very complete video that presents the tool.

The pricing is a bit higher than Ahrefs, about $119 per month. If you want to try Semrush, it’s here.

Lowfruits

So this one is my favorite, in two words, it allows, in two manipulations, to display a clear vision of the serp and thus allows you to do your competitive intelligence and your keyword research in the easiest way possible.

But what’s even cooler is that it allows you to generate a list of keyword ideas for free.

For example here, if I do the search with “best bike for *” on the US serp, then here is what the tool offers me:

Then you can choose to “analyze” the keywords you want. Note that an analysis costs you a credit.

After analysis, here is what you get:

You will find the average volume, but also if the serp has “feature snippets” for this keyword and finally a very clear vision of the state of the serp.

For example here we know that at position 3, we have a reddit post and therefore logically, this means that the serp lacks quality content and therefore it will be easier to come rank:

It’s then up to you to extract the keywords with the highest volume and a “bad quality” serp and thus direct your content on these keywords to rank more easily.

Finally, I was able to exchange directly with the founder of this tool, Paul, with whom we discussed for quite some time about entrepreneurship, web development and I can tell you that Lowfruits has a bright future!

As for pricing, it’s simple, for $25, you have 2000 credits, that is 2000 keyword analyses.

Congratulations Paul.

Google Search Console

It is obvious but I put it anyway. Google Search Console will allow you to have ultra important statistical data like the number of clicks to your site as well as the number of impressions coming from the Serp.

Google Search Console will allow you to have indications on the keywords that really rank and will direct you towards what you need to do to optimize your SEO traffic.

If you want to know more about how to install Google Search Console, here is this video:

Conclusion

In this article, we have reviewed 4 very important tools to save you time on the keyword research and competitive intelligence part.

You have probably noticed that it is always the same type of tools based on volumes, difficulty of the serp, backlink, competitors etc. …

Simply because this is the key, aiming for high volumes with a low quality serp and therefore low competition will allow you to find some good niches that will potentially allow you to hit the jackpot.
